What is the Oconee Alliance?
The Oconee Alliance is a public/private partnership that was officially created in August, 2006. The Alliance works with people and groups throughout Oconee County and the Upstate to improve the quality of life of Oconee residents and visitors. We work closely with county, city, and town officials as well as well as with these groups and individuals to study community needs and to implement programs that would otherwise have to be planned and implemented by government employees or officials.
In fact, for the Oconee Alliance to be successful, its members must be involved in the community fabric, and in other organizations that are working to improve the quality of life in the Golden Corner.
Conversely, all of these individuals and organizations should be connected to the Alliance.
The Alliance can best be described as a group representing you, your business and your values— planting seeds that germinate to improve our quality of life.
In fact, a committee put forward the following mission statement for the Oconee Alliance—“Caring citizens working together to improve life in our community.”
